The Idea Fund – Information Session
Saturday, October 10, 2009
11:00am – 2:00pm
At The Sterling Houston Theater
Through the Warhol Foundation Initiative, Aurora Picture Show, DiverseWorks and Project Row Houses have come together to support art at its source by providing direct grants to artists. The Idea Fund provides cash awards to artist-generated or artist-centered projects that exemplify the unconventional, interventionist, conceptual, entrepreneurial, participatory, or guerrilla artistic practices that occur outside of the traditional frameworks of support.
The Idea Fund announces its second round of grants, now open statewide and will be providing further information to artists who attend this information session.
The Idea Fund provides cash awards of $4,000 to 10 Texas-based, artist-generated or artist-centered projects that exemplify the unconventional, interventionist, conceptual, entrepreneurial, participatory, or guerrilla artistic practices that occur outside the traditional framework of support.
We are relying on word-of-mouth and electronic media to get the word out about this very unique grant opportunity. Therefore, we ask that you encourage other organizations with access to the innovative, underground and progressive artists in and around your city to help us spread the word.
We recognize that there is a lot of information about The Idea Fund that you might not have on hand, so we encourage you to visit: www.theideafund.org or to attend the Information Session.
