Jump-Start Art Gallery is proud to celebrate Print Making Month with the exhibition “Breaking the Press.” This exhibition is a daring exploration in printmaking including non-conventional methods and new techniques as seen in his woodblock and lithographic altered approaches in the works displayed in the gallery.
During opening night Friday, May 1, 2009, there will be an exclusive printmaking performance by Raul and his friends demonstrating an original method of relief printmaking never seen before in the world of printmaking. This unique method created by Raul incorporates the use of a large carpet and foam pad that is worked on with special fabric printing ink using an industrial grade carpet cleaner. The entire printmaking process will be performed twice for the audience to enjoy on the outside landing of the Jump-Start Theatre.
