DIRECTOR OF AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT
Jump-Start Performance Co., a vibrant, internationally recognized theatre company and performance space with a unique organizational model, seeks a Director of Audience Development who can fulfill the company’s mission of growing and activating its audience base. The Director of Audience Development will work to identify partnerships and cultivate relationships across a demographically diverse local community, and help the organization sustain its relationships in national and international fields. The ideal candidate will have skills in design and implementation of innovative means of engaging audiences.

Position: Three quarter time position (30 hours per week) that facilitates long-term and short-term audience development strategies increasing earned revenue. Director of Audience Development reports to the Artistic Director (Company Programming & Management.)
Salary Range: $22,000-$26,000 plus comprehensive health benefits, vacation, sick and annual leave.
Preferred Qualifications: Five years of non-profit arts marketing/public relations and/or B.A. in related field, bilingual (Spanish/English). Experience in visual communications, copywriting, print management, e-commerce and web-site maintenance as well as knowledge of Vendini are desirable.
Duties:
o Develop and maintain grassroots and social media strategies to attract new audiences and grow existing ones.
o Develop marketing strategies using networking 2.0 technologies.
o Promote company and guest artist performances, workshops, and other events.
o Develop and execute all promotion plan efforts including web-based, telemarketing, email and direct mail.
o Develop budgets for audience development and pricing strategies for increased ticket sales in consultation with key personnel.
o Tracking audience demographics and creating reports.
o Compose all marketing copy and direct graphic designers for publications.
o Co-facilitate community outreach and partnership development with key personnel.
o Conduct other marketing efforts as required including website and display ad campaign management.
o Other duties as necessary

Skills: Audience Research and Development; Marketing Schematics; Surveys; Group Sales; Community Outreach; Public Relations; Demonstrated skill in written and verbal communication; Intermediate-level skill with Microsoft Excel and Filemaker Pro; Basic knowledge of HTML, programming, and database principles; Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work to deadline in demanding, fast-paced environment.
