We’re taking it outside for our last W-I-P for this season, so bring your sunscreen and sunglasses!
Meet us in the lobby and travel around the Complex to view dance and performance art created for surprising locations outside our theatre. Then come back inside with us for an opportunity to discuss what you experienced with the artists. Site-specific W-I-P will feature work by Deborah Keller-Rihn with Dr. Sreedhara (Mandala installation and dance), Cindy Cash & Shawna Mann (Tribal belly dance fusion) and Billy Munoz (installation performance art).
W-I-P (Works-In-Progress/Wednesdays-In-Performance) is a collaboration between Jump-Start Performance Co. and San Antonio Dance Umbrella. It is a monthly lab space for new, in-progress dance and other movement-based performance works accompanied by a facilitated post-performance discussion. W-I-P is known for its eclecticism: modern dancers, belly dancers and performance artists have performed in the same evening and been inspired by each other, as well as expanding the audience’s perception of performance.
W-I-P goes on a break for July & August and returns with all-new programming in September.
