Fences presents a slice-of-life in a black tenement set in the late 1950s through 1965. Troy Maxson is a garbage collector who has taken great pride in keeping his family together and providing for them, while searching for fairness in a society which seems to offer none.

I had the pleasure of attending the performance on Sunday and was so glad I had gotten a first taste of the play the day before at the Black Business Expo. I have long wanted to attend and be involved in a jump start production. I am glad I was not only able to attend but to also expose my son to the spectacular performance. I know this will not be my last experience with the company.
