Jump-Start Performance Co. presents the site-specific performance event WATERMARK 1.5, created and performed by Sandra Dunn and S.T. Shimi, with Monessa Esquivel.Watermark 1.5 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Watermark 1.0, staged in 2004 at the Southwest School of Arts and Craft. This chapter, created in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, will continue to explore the pleasures and politics of water through aerial and grounded dance, original text and music and sculptural set-pieces, such as a custom-made 16 foot metal rig and a galvanized steel trough.

Audiences will witness the journey of the mythological Sirens, stranded in a nameless drowned city, as they search for a missing sister and fiercely question the circumstances that have led them there. It is a re-imagining of global water tales and myths, set in an apocalyptic urban landscape, inspired by current events.

The creative team for Watermark 1.5 includes Billy Munoz for lighting, Paul Harford and Eric Chapelle for music, and Sterling Houston for contributing text.

Watermark 1.5 is part of The Electric Performance Lab, a new works series at Jump-Start. It is also an official Contemporary Art Month (CAM) event.

Admission is $12 general and $9 for students and seniors. Jump-Start members always receive a 50% discount on ticket prices. Groups of ten or more receive a group rate of $7. For more information and to make reservations, call Jump-Start Performance Co. at (210) 227-5867.
