Karavan Studio is San Antonio’s premier belly dance troupe. Each year, we are fortunate to have them perform at Jump-Start Performance Co. This year is no exception: there will be special guest performers each night! On Friday, West African dancer Jean-Claude Lessou will perform, and Saturday’s performance will have American tribal dance company Urban Gypsy. In Belly dancing, the dancer ideally becomes an expression of the music. The extraordinary excitement and beauty of the Bellydance executed by a skilled and practiced professional, transcends time and culture. This dance, which originated in the Middle East, is now clearly for women everywhere!
The Karavan Dance Troupe is dedicated to presenting this beautiful dance as an art form.
