JUNE 9 – 11, 2006
FRIDAY – SUNDAY @ 8 PM

methweb.jpgJump-Start Performance Co. presents Trippin’ to Momma’s / As Filthy as it Gets, a double-bill of new works-in-progress. Chuck Squier takes us on a journey over the same lonely stretch of South Texas highway during several months with two very different friends.

Annele Spector and Monessa Esquivel present their bizarre musical act, The Methane Sisters, as they try to conquer the music scene from the early 80’s to present day.

Trippin’ to Momma’s is the story of a hitchhiker and a momma’s boy who become friends as they trip to the Rio Grande Valley. Over several months, the two find that even though their drugs of choice and their relationship may have changed, some things remain the same. Directed by Robert Rehm. Starring Billy Muñoz and Ulysses Orduño.

As Filthy as it Gets features The Methane Sisters, an over-the-top music act in the 80’s who are asked to make a comeback. May Joon is a male to female trannie and Ann Jewlie is a twice convicted felon. But why did they break up? Will they get back together? Or will they just sell out? Co-directed by Steve Bailey and Paul Bonin-Rodriguez. Video by Sam Lerma and Sam Bayless. Original music by Sam Bayless, Marc Montoya and Paul Mata, a.k.a The Crippling Gas Band.

Thank you to all that supported our crazy little play! I appreciated the overwhelming support, comments and criticism from everyone. Plan on seeing the rest in January 2007! I’m just really glad that people laughed as much as they did, Thank you to all that made half of this show happen and all the more to look forward to in the future. So when you see a pair of two crazy wigged woman on the streets of downtown with a guy with a film camera, you won’ think twice. And everytime you see a cucumber in the store, we hope you crack a smile.
